24th Annual South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic

Jim McMahon, Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Wayne Garrett, Don Nottingham, Joe West, and many many more current and former sports celebrity participate in this annual charity golf tournament at the Raven & Baytowne golf course in the Sandestin Resort of Walton County, Florida. The weather was brisk but dry at folks came bundled up to watch business, local organizations and schools marching bands pass by and spread joy. Sponsored by the City of Fort Walton Beach and hosted by Ted Corcoran, the CEO of the FWB Chamber of Commerce and Heather Ruiz, the 2021 Chair of the board for the chamber who also represents Destin Commons shopping center. The Judges were Vince & Kimberly Mayfield (BitWizards), Seth Luttrell (chamber Dir Operations) and John Hofstad (Okaloosa County Administrator).

23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic 2019

The 23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting the Veterans Lodge took place at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in November 2019. This is a 2-day charity golf tournament that included about 50 sports celebrities teams.

This year’s tournament’s proceeds will go to the Veterans Lodge, a “one-stop” facility to assist veterans with all their needs. The facility is being built in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, at the corner of I-10 and Rt-331. This 1-hour show aired on FoxSports in December 2019 as well as a few more times in January 2020. It was produced by Emerald Coast TV for the South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic organization.

Fort Walton Beach Christmas Parade 2019

The City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida  2019 Christmas Parade, “A Storybook Christmas” took place at 6 :30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

The route begins at First Street and proceeds north on Eglin Parkway to the old K-Mart parking lot. The parade includes approximately 100 entries ranging from non-profits and the military to area schools, bands, civic organizations and area businesses. Parade entries are divided into five categories and awards will be presented for the following: Best Marching, Best Youth Organization, Best Religious Organization, Best Service and Best Commercial. Santa will close the parade riding on the Fort Walton Beach fire truck. The parade is recorded and will be rebroadcast on Facebook, YouTube, Emerald Coast TV and Cox Channel 6 during the month of December.

Emerald Coast Classic 2019 Basketball Tournament

The Emerald Coast Classic is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball season, with the inaugural tournament beginning in 2014.

The third round and final round of the 2019 Emerald Coast Classic will be played in The Arena at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida.
